Stanton Moore's the man. This book isn't so much about chops as grooves. It's a pretty intense breakdown of some of the funkiest things ever recorded. If you're looking for insights into Mr. Moore's incredible playing, check out his Taking It To The Streets. If you're into fantastic grooves and the history behind them, buy this book. in fact I would go so far as to say buy both. I did, and my playing has improved greatly.

This book/DVD set is educational and fun! Mr. Moore is an excellent educator and very enjoyable to watch playing. Note that the DVD does not show every example in the book, and very few are played at a slower tempo, however the audio CD does.
