Read this before purchasing a used book between $3 and $20 and make sure CD is included, it's the only way to take the practice

Great book but make sure you purchase it with the CD, which has all the practice exams. Without the CD all you have are the test answers in the back of the book. Taking the practice tests is where you are going to spend most of your time and get the most benefit out of this book! Also be careful buying this book from the sellers who are listing it at between $3--$20 as they likely are not including the CD. Also look for the 2013 edition rather than the 2012, I know the 2013 works great if you are planning to take the test anytime before 2016. One more thing, I would recommend buying a book without highlighting in it as it can throw you off as to where you need to focus and limit your own ability to really learn and what you are reading. Good luck, I just took the test at the end of April and passed on my first try, couldn't have done it without this book. The flash cards were also very helpful!

Good book but lacking in some information

Its a good book to study for the basics in the NPTE exam, I passed the exam with my first attempt. The musculoskeletal section is especially weak compared to the O'sullivan book. The Neurology and research section are probably the best part of the book.Overall, it is a good starting book to read if you are preparing for the exams, I would recommend that you read the O'sullivan book also, as a lot of information is included in that book compared to this one which seems to skim over stuff. The information is well presented in tables and in highlighted colorful sections with emphasis on important information to know for the exam. i would recommend this book as a starting book but read the O'sullivan as well.

Basically what I expected - minor discrepancies noted

Outlines material expected on the PT exam. Pretty much what I expected it to be, no surprises (good or bad).
I did notice some small discrepancies, such as the book stating that the deep peroneal nerve innervates the lumbricals and interossei in the feet. I'd recommend that if you're uncertain about content in this book, to double check it with a PT textbook. I verified a few errors already.
