A must-read to strengthen or heal your marriage

This book gives hope, practical help and encouragement for anyone either married or getting ready to get married. Understand the dynamics of how a work relationship or another innocuous friendship can turn harmful fast - and how to prevent it or stop it in its tracks.

It's not just for the relationship-challenged

I stumbled upon this book and it sparked thoughts of a buried area of discontent in my 20 year relationship with my husband – his irritability when I have after work dinner or a drink with any younger male business colleague. While I would be hesitant to have that type of interaction with a male my age or older, I find that I drop the protocol because I relate to all younger males as younger brothers since I was raised with a house of them.

The Bakers’ insightful and detailed book gave me a better understanding of the dynamics between my husband, myself, and possibly the younger males. Will I still socialize with them? Yes, but going forward I’d set in place some pre-emptive boundaries and have at least one more person present. Read the book and you’ll understand it’s not because I can’t or the other person can’t be trusted. The Bakers’, in a non-judgmental way, layout the subtle issues involved despite pure intentions.

The book also served as a catalyst to reopen the conversation with my husband and the outcome was very positive. While we’ve both been physically and emotionally faithful to each other, the faithful piece does get wobbly at times such as conversations with my sister. I’m now a wiser and more supportive wife thanks to this book – and all along I thought I was pretty darn good. Every marriage, even strong ones, would benefit from this book.

This book should be read by everyone who is married or considering getting married which is just about everyone. With about half of all marriages ending in divorce, porn flooding the net, and dating sites being used by married people to have affairs, the best way to keep from having an affair and ruining your life is to nip it in the bud. So "affair proof" your life by reading this book and applying the principles laid out in a very easy to read manner. Definitely worth the download.

Excellent Introduction

I am half-way through this book and realize that I have used Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) for years. This was the approach we used because of HAZOP studies. If you look at the methodology, they are the same. It is an excellent book for first-pass economics of preventive maintenance (PM). Through numerous examples, he shows when to PM, when you are spending too much for PM, and when to just run the damn thing 'til it breaks. As I said, it is a great introduction. I have picked up Doc Palmer's book and can see I would be lost without preparation. If there are any short-comings, it is grammar and spelling. There are numerous typographical errors. Most engineers seem to have taken an-engineer's only english class in college. I found the errors troubling but the writing clear and concise. A very good book for a refresher (as in my case), or an introduction.

Don't waste your time.. this book is told in dry manner and has no ending

This book was bizarre and very extreme. I guess if you are into the BDSM lifestyle it might be titillating. However it seemed O was basically very disturbed and only liked the torture because it meant that she was pleasing her master. The one she loves gives her away to his brother Sir Stephen... The relationship between the two brothers can only be described as vague and bizarre. By far the worst part of the book was then ending or rather the lack of one. The author apparently never finished the book and it is just left for you to guess what the ending is. All in all I would say don't waste your time. It does not have the heat and sexual tension provided in the Fifty Shades of Grey Series.

Bought this for my wife after she read the 50 shades books and then several other similar books. This is by far the most sexual of them all, but still a good read and I actually read a few chapters, which I haven't of any of the other books she reads.

One of those must-reads

This is one of those books that should be read just because it cannot fail to provoke a reaction in the reader. I felt the earlier part of the book had a very authentic ring to it (as if the author was recounting personal experiences blended with fantasy) and became less and less convincing as the plot moved on. The ending is logical (in terms of the "point" the author appears to want to make) but, I thought, hollow, inauthentic and disappointing. Some of the practises described in the book are implausible and dangerous (eg, whipping her belly), but others ring true and provoked, in me, a great deal of arousal. This is an incredibly erotic book: being both subtle and explicit, perverse and well-written. Some readers are likely to find that it opens doors of perception for them (that is, the eroticisation of pain and degradation), others will be left cold and think it a very silly book. As long as you are over 18 you will probably get something out of it, one way or the other, and it is worth a buy. Also note - the book is quite different from the movie in some crucial respects.

Solid book on management tactics

I have to say that strategic marketing can be a mystery even to those who are trained and well versed in the subject. This book, written by a professor who now teaches and gives seminars on the subject is thoughful and well-written. Even for someone who just wants to understands the basics of management will benefit from reading this book. Sure, it's older but the basics simply make sense. I recommend this to someone who wants to go one level higher with strategies, but who already understands the concepts behind marketing.
